Unlimited data mobile plans

Unlimited data mobile plans

All home fibre broadband internet plans in Singapore come with unlimited data. But that’s not the case with all SIM-only mobile plans.

Thankfully, certain mobile providers offer unlimited data, albeit with disclaimers. The best mobile plans with unlimited mobile data either costs extra, have shaped speeds or only include weekend data.

Best unlimited data mobile plan overall

Most mobile plans in Singapore only offer unlimited data with shaping. This means once you go over a max-speed data cap, speeds are slowed.

We recommend starting your best unlimited data mobile plan comparisons with the MyRepublic Unlimited Data Plan. It typically costs $39 a month for unlimited data, which translates to 5GB of data per day at 4G speeds. If you go over, speeds are managed thereafter. MyRepublic says managed speeds are fast enough to browse online, check email, live chat and stream music.

This MyRepublic plan also includes 2,000 minutes of outgoing local calls and 2,000 outbound local SMSes. Caller ID, incoming calls and inbound SMSes are included. You can also consider mobile plans from RedOne, Zero1 and Vivifi.

Those wary of monthly costs should consider the Simba 50GB SIM Only plan. It costs $10 every 30 days and comes with 50GB of data, 300 minutes of outgoing calls and 30 outbound SMSes. At the time of review, this plan also included 50GB of bonus data.

Best cheap unlimited data mobile plan

There are many affordable SIM-only mobile plans that offer unlimited data via managed speeds. But our pick of the best is the Zero1 Starter SIM Only plan. It typically costs $6.90 every 30 days with a $22.47 upfront fee. This price comes with 6GB of Singtel 4G network data, plus 150 outgoing local calls and 100 outbound local SMSes.

Zero1 says it has tested managed speeds with emails, Spotify, YouTube, WhatsApp, Facebook and Instagram. For alternatives, consider cheap unlimited data mobile plans from MyRepublic, RedOne and Vivifi.

A handful of mobile providers offer unlimited data via managed speeds in Singapore. But what about unlimited data while roaming

? Here’s where StarHub steps in. Technically, any StarHub SIM-only mobile plan can take advantage of the DataTravel Unlimited add-on, which offers unlimited roaming daily data for $19, $25 or $30 a day, depending on the destination. We’re recommending you start comparisons with the StarHub 5G $38 Mobile+ SIM Only plan, which typically costs $28 a month for the first two years. This StarHub mobile plan comes with 60GB of base data, plus 1,000 minutes of outgoing local calls (unlimited talk-time for the first 12 months) and 1,000 outbound local SMSes. StarHub also offers unlimited local data on weekends.

Best unlimited data mobile plan for weekends

As mentioned above, StarHub is one of the mobile providers in Singapore that offers unlimited weekend data. The other one is M1. At the time of writing, M1 SIM-only mobile plans were offering unlimited data for the first month for new sign-ups, plus six months of unlimited weekend data. We recommend starting comparisons with the M1 SIM Only Base Plan, which typically costs $20 every 30 days. It comes with 50GB of base data, 1,000 minutes of outgoing local calls and 1,000 outbound local SMSes.

Best unlimited data mobile plan for speed

Some of the SIM-only mobile plans on this page offer unlimited data via managed speeds. But certain Singtel plans offer managed speeds with a twist. For these applicable Singtel plans, users can access the Data X Infinity add-on for $29.90 or $39.90 per month (on a 24-month add-on subscription), which adds an extra 50GB of max-speed data after your data cap. For the Singtel XO Plus 88 plan, this means 110GB of Singtel 5G network speeds before speeds are managed to 1Mbps for the duration of your billing cycle. That’s fast enough to do everything on your phone outside of HD video streaming and fast app downloads. The Singtel XO Plus 88 plan typically costs $88 a month with a $48.15 upfront fee. It comes with 60GB of base data, plus 600 minutes of local calls and 600 local SMSes.

What about unlimited data plans from other mobile providers?

RedOne and Vivifi both offer SIM-only mobile plans with unlimited data via managed speeds once the max-speed data cap has been reached. That still leaves, Circles.Life, Giga, Gomo, CMLink and Simba (formerly TPG Telecom). Circles.Life claims to have unlimited data but reading into the full explanation reveals that this refers to a 300GB data bank. That’s not the same as unlimited data, but it does mean users can store up to 300GB of data, specifically with the Circles.Life 100GB SIM Only plan. Giga also has data rollover, but it’s only eligible for two recharge cycles and the amount is capped based on the SIM-only plan. Gomo, CMLink and Simba don’t offer unlimited data mobile plans in any form.
